Recipe: Grilled Wagyu Burgers with Cheddar Cheese, Fried Onion Straws and Comeback Sauce

Updated: May 4, 2023

This recipe lets the deep flavor of the beef shine without all the distractions of a lot of toppings. But feel free to get creative and top away with all of your favorite ingredients as well.

Season beef patties with sea salt, black pepper and olive oil and grill. Once you flip burgers add the white cheddar cheese so that it melts as the 2nd side of the burger cooks. Serve with fried onion straws and comeback sauce!

Fried onion straws

2 red onions thinly sliced

1 cup of milk

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 Tablespoons smoked paprika

2 Tablespoons Kosher Salt

1 tsp white pepper

8 cups of frying oil of your choice

Bring 8 cups of oil to 325 degrees in a cast iron pan or large frying pan. (better yet a fryer if you have one!)

Mix flour with seasonings and set aside. Soak the red onions in milk then drain off excess milk and coat in flour mixture. Fry in small batches until golden brown and reserve on a paper towel

Comeback Sauce

1 cup of mayonnaise

4 Tablespoons Buffalo wing sauce

2 Tablespoons of Worcestershire

1 tsp garlic powder

.25 cup sweet pickle relish

1 teaspoon sea salt

.5 teaspoon black pepper
